Cuckoo returns after 16 years — “In the City Where the Cuckoo Cries.”
“Cuckoo” was a band that existed for only a single year.
Formed in June 2010,
we released the single “Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” just as things were beginning to move forward.
Then came the aftermath of the March 11, 2011 disaster,
along with the full-scale return of cali≠gari.
Amid those shifting circumstances,
“Cuckoo” became a memory we left behind at that time.
Even though the members always remained close to one another,
for some reason, we never tried to do it again.
Of course, each of us had our own reasons.
And then, just like that, 16 years passed.
Now, while cali≠gari is gathering its strength for the road toward its final chapter,
“Cuckoo” will return for a little while — almost like a reunion.
But I don’t think this will be a night that ends in nostalgia alone.
